National Treasure 3 Movie Trailer

Speculated to release in 2014, National Treasure 3 is the third installment in the hugely successful ‘National Treasure’ franchise, the first of which was released in 2004 and subsequently the sequel in 2007. The adventure movies series which involves in depth historical research, elaborate sets, hunts and one incredulous act, is lapped up by audiences across the world with great fanfare and adulation. The third installment is currently under production with the basic cast finalized as Nicholas Cage as Benjamin Franklin Gates, Diane Kruger as Abigail Chase, Justin Bartha as Riley Poole and Helen Mirren as Emily Appleton Gates.

There are several rumors, speculative tidbits and so on which indicate that Jon Voight is not yet finalized for the role of Patrick Gates, however, this remains to be seen and cannot be confirmed at this time. The storylines of both the preceding installments were same along the lines that a treasure would have to be found in order to clear up a historical misapprehension. As such, these movies have used real life stories, historical sites, treasure maps, myths and urban legends woven together in a beautifully light hearted manner to give brilliantly entertaining movies. The whole premise of these movies depends on the fact that this team of treasure hunters, headed by Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) undertakes a very dangerous quest to find clues that may lead to a very historical and important treasure trove, not for the money, but for the principles of rich and ancient history being celebrated and returned to the natives. As such, they carry out the most outrageous acts, such as break in to the white house, kidnap the President of the USA and also break in to the Buckingham palace.

Not surprisingly, the third installment is hugely speculated upon and fans cannot wait to hear news of progress and completion of the project. There is also some confusion about the release dates of the movie, wherein some say that the movie is slated for release in Dec 2011 and some say that it will release only in 2014. Also, the plot of the movie is being hugely speculated as, in the second installment, the movie ends in a very mysterious manner about page 47 of the president’s book. The movie is currently being filmed. John Turtletaub remains at the helm of the Director’s seat and the rest of the production and design teams are also retained apparently. As such, any discussion about the movie and its status is purely speculation t the moment however, filming and script development has been verified by producer Jerry Bruckheimer and the Disney management.
